Car Transport Services
Quick answer. Car transport services move a vehicle on a separate carrier, either open or enclosed, alongside or apart from the household load. A hatchback on a short intercity run starts near Rs 4,500. Call +91 8264091243 for the figure against your route.
A car carrier is a purpose built truck with decks for vehicles. The car is driven onto the deck, strapped at four points, and photographed before the straps go on. The same photographs are checked at delivery. That record is what a damage claim is settled against.
What car transport services include
Door to door pickup and delivery, a pre loading condition report with photographs, strapping on the carrier, transit insurance at 2 to 3 per cent of the declared value, and a delivery window confirmed before dispatch. Open carriers are cheaper and suit most cars. Enclosed carriers cost more and are used for premium and vintage vehicles.
Car transport charges
Charges are set by distance, vehicle type and the carrier used. A hatchback on a run up to 400 km costs less than an SUV on the same route because of deck space. Fuel, toll and permit charges on the corridor are listed separately in the estimate. The figure is confirmed after the vehicle details and the route are known.
Documents needed for car transport
A copy of the registration certificate, a valid insurance copy, and the owner photo ID. For intercity transport across state lines the permit papers are arranged by the carrier. The vehicle is handed over with a quarter tank of fuel and the personal belongings removed from the cabin.
What is the cheapest way to ship a car
An open carrier on a shared truck is the cheapest option, usually 20 to 35 per cent below a dedicated carrier. Booking a mid month, mid week date brings the figure down further. Moving the car along with the household load on the same truck is often cheaper than a separate booking.
Car transport charges by vehicle type and distance
A car travels in a carrier, not in the household truck. Enclosed carriers cost more than open ones and they are worth it for a new or a premium vehicle. Both options run with the household load or separately.

What to check before a car goes on the carrier
Photograph the car from four angles on the day of loading, including the odometer. Note every existing scratch on the inventory sheet and have the driver sign it. Keep the vehicle registration and insurance papers with you rather than in the car.
The fuel tank should be at a quarter full. Remove loose items from the boot and the cabin, disable the alarm, and hand over a single key. Transit insurance at 2 to 3 per cent of the declared value covers accident, fire and theft in transit.
